A travel wardrobe can can literally make or break any trip but I believe that the perfect wardrobe goes far beyond a comfortable pair of sneaks and a jacket with hidden pockets! Where do you find those timeless items that will travel well and won’t make you stand out like a sore thumb?
Look no further than the landscapes to which you will be exploring! Australia has always been one of my “must see” destinations but as a family of four, there are many fears that keep people from stepping out of their comfort zone and traveling to a foreign land. In the case of Australia, we have decided to wait to take that 18 hour flight across the pond. I want my children to really remember this trip….even though Liam swears he remembers us losing him in the Colosseum!
Thinking about Australia as a foreigner, many iconic images come to mind – Uluru Rock, the Sydney Opera House and “the Bush” but what really evokes feelings for me, are their respective colors. The deep ochre rock and dirt, varying shades of blue waters and the soft gum leaf greens. Creating an Australian travel capsule wardrobe with minimal pieces that coordinate with harmonizing color schemes has been made simple by designers, Lacey Lane. The sister duo are paying homage to their native countryside when releasing their latest collection. Australiana, like the collection is aptly named, highlights a nostalgia for an idealized life in rural Australia. One of the items, the Jericho Suspender Bloomers, were named after a small village situated in Central West Queensland and feature navy, olive and white bush tones. The gorgeous eucalyptus green pairs perfectly with other items in the collection such as the Gretta and Junee blouses. Every piece in a travel capsule should be versatile and comfortable. The Jericho Bloomers are just that! They feature an elastic waist and adjustable straps – perfect for climbing and exploring. Remember, simple and classic does not mean drab and ugly! A capsule wardrobe is a base – adapt it to your travel style and destination. With this collection, a straw hat and pair of troops look just as amazing in the outback as dress shoes and bow look in the city.
As I am focused more on fashion, specifically the boutique fashion world, I am continually impressed with the women who come from the Land Down Under. And even though we speak the same language, I am constantly learning new phrases. Ridgy Didge (…look that up!) truly sums up the brand Lacey Lane and the Laner community, and I am proud to say that this foreigner is a part of it! Lacey Lane has bridged the ocean and I have made many friends that I won’t hesitate to call up when we finally do make our trip to Australia. Maybe then, I will see some “Laners in the Wild”.
If you want to score a piece of the vinty styled, Australiana collection, make sure you are ready at 10:00 am AEST Jan 10th, 2018.
I will leave you with a picture of my Laner on our recent trip to Barcelona. The deep fuchsia bougainvillea in the rustic Spanish villages looked amazing with her dress.Tell me, how do you plan your wardrobe when traveling?
